Dear SureChEMBL users,
Over the past year, we’ve introduced several updates to the SureChEMBL platform, focusing on improving functionality while maintaining a clean and intuitive design. Even small changes can have a big impact on your experience, and our goal remains the same: to provide high-quality patent annotation with a simple, effective way to find the data you need.
What’s Changed?
After careful consideration, we’ve redesigned the landing page to make your navigation smoother and more intuitive. From top to bottom:
- Announcements Section: Stay up to date with the latest news and updates directly from this blog. Never miss any update!
- Enhanced Search Bar: The main search bar is still your go-to for text searches, still with three pre-filter radio buttons to quickly narrow your results without hassle.
- Improved Query Assistant: Our query assistant has been redesigned and upgraded to help you craft more precise queries. It now includes five operator options:
- Exact match
- Excludes exact match
- Contains any term
- Contains all terms
- Excludes all terms
- Dedicated Structure Search Menu: The structure search now has its own dedicated section, making it easier to locate. Use one of four algorithms (substructure, similarity, identical, or connectivity) to retrieve compounds. The search bar and query assistant will be disabled when this feature is in use. Also note that recently we transitioned to Ketcher (EPAM) for the structure sketcher.
What’s Next?
In the future, we plan to reintroduce combined search (text + structure search). This new interface is designed with that feature in mind, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience when it’s ready to launch.
Quick Tip: Did You Know?
You can now search for one or more patent identifiers by simply entering them in the search bar. No pre-requisites—just list your identifiers (space- or comma-separated), and we’ll fetch the relevant patents for you.
We’re committed to not only improving the platform’s look and feel but also enhancing its features and annotations. As always, we’d love to hear your feedback! Feel free to reach out to us via email.
