Understanding a chemical entity means looking beyond its name and structure. Its place in the ChEBI ontology can reveal how it relates to other entities and where their classifications overlap. We’ve updated ChEBI’s Tree View and Graph View with interactive widgets that let you compare two terms. Try a comparison Open a compound detail page and find the ChEBI Ontology section. Select Tree View, then use the search box above the tree to choose another ChEBI term. The tree displays their hierarchies together, helping you explore shared ancestors and different branches. For another perspective, switch to Graph View and choose a comparison term in its search box. The graph highlights the shared and distinct parts of their hierarchies. Clear the selected term from the search box to return to the original view. In Graph View, you can also select a node and click the scissors icon to remove it from the displayed graph. Trim away nodes to create a custom view focused on the r...
